I am so disappointed that you don’t have the market open sat the 20th. Why. ? My family from out of town wanted to make a day of it in holland.

Sharon, we’re so sorry to disappoint you! All of our vendors are everyday people who also need time to prepare for their own Christmas celebration. Kerstmarkt always starts the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs for four weekends total. Some years it ends earlier than others, based on when Thanksgiving falls. We hope your family will enjoy shopping Holland’s lovely downtown. Best wishes, and Merry Christmas!

I am very happy to see a Christmas Market in the USA! Do you guys sell also hot wine/hot chocolate/food like in Europe?

    • Admin says:

At this point we do not have beer and wine available at the Kerstmarkt. However we do offer other hot and cold drinks and food, including Dutch specialties like banket, pigs in the blanket and pea soup.

Was wondering why on Nov. 21 the market is only open until 3:00? We cant make it to Holland until 3:00. All other days are until 5:00. Any chance that time will change?

    • Admin says:

We have taken your comment into consideration and are discussing it. Thanks for the input! (I’ll post here what we decide and email you as well.)

We don’t really know why our hours on the first Saturday are different….other than the fact that up until 10 years ago, we didn’t open until after Thanksgiving and when we thought we would try the Saturday before, we just scheduled our hours to match the Holland Farmer’s Market…9am-3pm. The Farmer’s Market is held at the same site.

We have checked with our vendors and many of them have said they wouldn’t mind staying open until 5:00. If it’s a nice day, we may just find other customers wandering through. Since it’s not in their contract for this year, we cannot guarantee that all of our vendors will be open, but you will be able to get a good idea of the unique character of our European Christmas market.

Can we tell our vendors that you will be there?….and please stop at the United Methodist Food Booth and enjoy a free cup of hot cocoa!

Hello! I was wondering if there will be sled dogs, or what the additional details for what kind of vendors will be there, etc? Thanks!

  7. Hi! I’m wondering if there are still booths available for sellers on November 21? I make modern quilts, quilted pillow covers, and handlettered cards and prints. I live in the Chicago area but will be visiting family in Holland on November 21 and would love a booth at Kerstmarkt.
    Thanks for letting me know,

Laura, thanks for your interest. The 2015 Kerstmarkt is full (with a sizable waiting list). And just to be clear, vendors need to commit to sell all eight dates in order to be a part of the Kerstmarkt. We hope you’ll stop out and see us while you’re here visiting!
